Jayne Opperman

Managing Director, Head of APAC/EMEA Consumer Technology, Citi

Jayne Opperman is the Head of Consumer Bank Technology for Asia and EMEA. With 25 years of technology leadership experience across the financial services industry, Jayne is responsible for refining the technology strategy in APAC and EMEA and driving delivery against the region’s book of work. She will also evolve approaches that accelerate progress on consumer technology’s priorities and work closely with each line of business to ensure our continued success as the region’s Best Digital Bank.

Prior to Citi, Jayne was the General Manager of Business Integration at Westpac, where she developed the capabilities of technology teams to support the business divisions and led the development of divisional roadmaps to support the business target state. By reinforcing a multi-channel strategy, Jayne accelerated the alignment of the banker and customer experiences and drove the integration of common capabilities essential for end-to-end digitization. Jayne’s leadership in the transformation of application development, alignment of operating models across divisions, and the group’s automation agenda allowed the organization to build innovation capabilities and partnerships with FinTech organizations, and dramatically improve customer experiences.

Throughout her career, Jayne has held a variety of roles, most notably the Australia CIO at ANZ, responsible for defining the strategic direction of technology, and the CIO of Retail Banking at Lloyds Banking Group where she led the retail technology integration of over 31 million customer accounts during the Lloyds Halifax merger.

Jayne earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology, her Master of Science in Information Security from the University of London, and her MBA from London Business School.

In her spare time, Jayne is passionate about running and yoga, and loves to spend quality time with her husband Anton and their 2 children, Ben and Grace.
