Innovation architect, Dr. Karolina Lipińska currently acts as Vice-president of the Management Board of Energa-Operator S.A., responsible for the area of distribution services, development of local energy communities and human resources. Its goal is to efficiently implement investments while focusing on customer needs.
A local government official with over 20 years of experience, responsible for the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and energy in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. From 2020 to 2004, she coordinated the activities of the Pomeranian Maritime Development Platform Wind Energy in the Baltic Sea, which brings together over 140 signatories, most of them entrepreneurs. The main goal of the Platform is to increase the participation of Polish entrepreneurs in offshore supply chains, as well as to raise awareness of the benefits resulting from the green energy transformation.
Initiator and leader of two editions of the EDU OFFSHORE WIND Educational Career Fair in Poland, consolidating the marine renewable energy industry, taking into account prospective development areas, such as technologies hydrogen or cybersecurity. The fair organized in 2023 and 2024 were visited by over 18,000 youth from secondary schools and students.
She served as a rapporteur on the Management Board of the organization associating the regions of the Baltic Sea countries (BSSSC), being responsible for presenting the current situation on the international market, with particular emphasis on offshore. She worked in international structures, where she learned about the mechanisms of interregional cooperation and appreciated the importance of networking resulting in the creation of international projects and initiatives.
She coordinated work related to the implementation of the first regional cluster development policy in Poland. The support models and good practices introduced in the Pomeranian Voivodeship were later implemented at the national level. Member of the cluster policy team at the Ministry of Labor, Development and Technology and the Expert Group for the Smart Specialization Strategy established by the European Commission DG REGIO.
For several years, she coordinated work related to the Regional Innovation Strategy, the key element of which were eco-efficient technologies and energy based on renewable energy sources. Observing the phenomena and processes taking place in the region, he notices the importance of the culture of entrepreneurship, mentality, motivation and creativity. He has the opportunity to scientifically research these phenomena based on his results from his doctoral thesis on the impact of informal institutions on the financing of R&D in enterprises.
He publishes and gives lectures at the Gdansk University of Technology and the University of Gdansk in the field of offshore wind energy, project management and innovative processes in English.
