Always the provocateur, prof. Dragan uncompromisingly tears down our illusions

Two years ago, we introduced you to Prof. Andrzej Dragan - the brilliant, uncompromising theoretical physicist, audiovisual artist, and Special Guest of the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit. Back then, we warned you that his views would shatter your basic understanding of the Universe. But if you thought his take on quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity was mind-bending, wait until you hear what he has been up to lately.

Over the last two years, Dragan hasn’t just been connecting the dots between Einstein and the quantum realm; he has stepped right into the eye of our era's greatest technological hurricane: Artificial Intelligence.

In his newest hit book, "Quo vAIdis", published in October 2025, Dragan examines AI not just as a tool, but as an unknown, fascinating animal - poking it, testing its limits, and asking uncomfortable questions. Are large language models just "stochastic parrots" - glorified mathematical functions multiplying matrices to guess the next word - or do they exhibit true intelligence, reasoning, and creativity?

Always the provocateur, Dragan uncompromisingly tears down our illusions. He points out a chilling paradox: humanity has learned to create advanced artificial intelligence, yet we fundamentally do not understand how it actually works. We are building algorithms capable of defeating human grandmasters in chess, created by programmers who might not even know how to play the game themselves.

Drawing from concepts like the Hutter Prize, Dragan argues that true intelligence can be measured by data compression - the ability to find deep, non-obvious analogies and patterns. He also warns about algorithms that already understand human psychology better than we do, effortlessly manipulating our behaviors through social media platforms.

"Quo vAIdis" proves that Dragan is still the exact same rebellious explorer we know and love, analyzing AI with the curiosity of an "ADHD kid" and the immense rigor of a top-tier scientist. He doesn't moralize or feed our everyday fears; instead, he offers a sobering, panoramic view of digital systems that are rapidly outsmarting their own creators.

As Prof. Dragan returns to our stage, expect a keynote that bridges the microscopic mysteries of quantum physics with the algorithmic edge of human evolution. Will AI ultimately outpace human intellect? Are we ready for what comes next?Join us at the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit, and let’s find out together. Get ready to have your reality challenged - again!
