Globally, more than 60% of people believe the world would function much better if more women held leadership positions.
And looking at what is happening around us – wars, destruction, the rising wave of “brown-shirt boys,” and the complete disgrace of many male authorities in science, technology, business and politics exposed in the Epstein scandal – that number will only grow.
People everywhere are deeply exhausted with the way the world currently works. Ahead lies only a dead end.
The shortage of women in key areas is painful. Only 7% of negotiators in armed conflicts are women. And yet women tend to prioritize values such as human rights, civilian safety, and equality as a foundation of stability.
It simply does not make sense.
Women are missing from the leadership of science and technology. Their voices are weaker in politics and business. Even in the arts – there are brilliant female artists, yet far fewer women in decision-making positions within cultural institutions.
Research is clear and unequivocal: we are all losing because of this.
That is why today we say: IT’S TIME FOR WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP.
The old leadership patterns we relied on are reaching their limits.
It is time for the New Energy that can emerge when women take responsibility for the key areas shaping our world — on equal terms.
The era of women leaders is beginning. Their world is already just around the corner.
A world we do not yet know.
A world where there is no guarantee things will be better.
But I don’t know about you - we would like to try and see what happens.
