Technology and people for the last thousands of years have been the most important aspects of building the world and global unity. It rarely happens that the human race goes faster than technology even though it’s humans who create the technology - said Krzysztof Gawkowski, The Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Digitalization, during the opening of the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2024 - Especially from the perspective of a person without whom this event would not be possible. Today's event is not only a meeting in the field of digitalization, technology, and science. It is, above all, a celebration of women's strength, talent and professionalism. The dynamic development of Poland - of all its sectors - would not be possible if it were not for women who, with passion, determination, strength, and charisma, can tell men: "I have my own opinion and I will implement it!"
The world of technology will change: quantum technologies and computers, artificial intelligence - it has already entered our lives. But at this event, I believe that you will go a step further and talk about the prospects of what will happen not today, not tomorrow, but decades from now. In the Polish government, which I represent here together with Minister Barbara Nowacka and Minister Katarzyna Kotula, thinking about supporting women and building space for their development, building space for technologization, computerization, digitalization, and finding inspiration in the digital world is not only a priority, but it is the foundation of the new, responsible state that we are creating. We do not want the slogan of equality to be just a slogan. We want true equality, also in the world of technology.
Congratulations on this wonderful initiative, Summit! Congratulations on being such a mass here - these thousands of smiling faces show that the power of technology and the power of women in the modern world is the foundation of a modern, responsible state.
The political future often ties our hands because there are various limitations that we cannot overcome. The fate of every politician is sealed - if he wins something, there always comes a time when he loses something. That's why I deeply believe that the new Minister of Digital Affairs will be a woman!
