I think that this is a super important topic if we would like to change something on a systemic level. We have a lot to do! We have a climate crisis, we have growing economic inequalities, we have different kinds of wars… We have to do something which will be bigger than going vegan! - said Aleksandra Jach, opening a panel discussion with leading experts whose goal was to look at alternative ways in which we can design our world so we can stop the climate crisis and create a sense of well-being for all people. Listen to how they explore new ideas and solutions from an economic and social perspective.
At the heart of the discussion lies the recognition that traditional notions of economic growth are no longer tenable in a world facing the existential threats of climate change, biodiversity loss, and social inequality. Instead, postgrowth advocates for a shift towards qualitative improvements in well-being, emphasizing factors such as community, reciprocity, interconnectedness and ecological integrity over mere GDP expansion.
