Dr. Irene Alda began research early, working on physics projects including Raman spectroscopy, thermoelectrics, graphene thermal dilation, and adaptive thermoplasmonic lenses. In 2015, she started a Ph.D. in Physics at ICFO under an FPU scholarship, contributing to the ERC QnanoMECA project. She graduated Cum Laude in 2020 with her dissertation “Levitodynamics on-a-chip”, covering modeling, fabrication, experimental design, and data analysis, while co-leading undergraduate teaching. Post-Ph.D., she worked at ThePaperMill as editor, grants consultant, and project manager, aiding scientific communication. Simultaneously, she developed her yoga venture, “living la vida yoga,” teaching internationally, partnering with brands, gaining media recognition, and publishing a book. In 2023, she became Academic Director of the Bachelor in Applied Mathematics at IE University, overseeing program quality, student experience, management, and teaching.
