Gillian Makamara

Gillian Makamara is a Project Officer at the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), where she leads and coordinates the organization’s work on quantum technologies, including the “Quantum for Good” initiative, and its engagement in global quantum efforts such as the International Year of Quantum, for which she represented the ITU in its steering committee and coordinated ITU's contributions to the International Year. She also contributes to international standardization in cybersecurity (ITU-T Study Group 17) and in performance and quality aspects (ITU-T Study Group 12), and supports efforts to strengthen participation from developing countries in the standards ecosystem.
