Alana is a software engineer at Netflix on the Consumer Web Foundations team, which builds and maintains the platform that powers Netflix.com. The team focuses on maintaining a high-quality developer experience for 60+ web developers, as well as keeping the website modernized and performant. Alana’s work typically involves improving Netflix’s custom UI framework, particularly the data fetching step during server-side rendering, but expands to other areas including logging, measuring the developer experience, and more.
Alana is currently based in San Francisco and works out of Netflix’s Los Gatos office. She started her career in software engineering as a new grad at Netflix in 2023 after studying Computer Science and Visual Arts in college. Outside of work, she loves spending time outside, drinking coffee, and staying active through pole dancing, figure skating, and soccer.
