Lydia Sanmartí-Vila

Lydia Sanmartí-Vila is the Head of Outreach at ICFO and Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group of the European Quantum Flagship, where she also serves as a member of the CSA team. With over 10 years of experience in deep tech outreach, she is the creator of two impactful programmes: Be an ICFOnian for a Day, a career development initiative for female STEM university students, and CARLA, aimed at promoting careers in Deep Tech among undergraduate and graduate students. Her professional background spans strategic consulting at Deloitte, corporate and medical communications at top-tier strategic communications agencies, and biotech operational leadership, complemented by significant expertise in managing international initiatives, multi-institutional partnerships, and networks of experts. She holds a PhD in neurobiochemistry from the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in Germany and a degree in Chemistry from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, bringing technical foundation and extensive international experience to her work at the intersection of science, education, and inclusion.
